Copernicus Street

Copernicus Street

Approved: November 5, 1973 (originally named College Street)

Origin: Another initiative brought forth by Kazimierz Platera to commemorate Copernicus in Canada’s capital city. Thanks to the dedication of the Committee, support from University of Ottawa professors and Polish descendants, and the choice of street by Witold Kubasiewicz (chief of construction and planning of the University of Ottawa), City Hall approved a petition to change the name.

Location: passing through the University of Ottawa campus.
